Welcome to STEM-TRACKS
STEM-TRACKS is a three-year grant funded by the California Math and Science Partnership through the California Department of Education. The Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Office is the administrator for the grant that serves TK/K through sixth grade teachers in Tuolumne, Calaveras, and Amador counties.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and TRACKS stands for Teacher Resources for Achievement, Collaboration, Knowledge, and Standards. Our professional development model is designed to integrate all four STEM disciplines in all of our training sessions so that the participating teachers can better realize how easily and seamlessly the disciplines can be incorporated into their classroom instruction.
Professional development occurs throughout the year, however the bulk of the training takes place during three Summer Intensive Institutes. Columbia College is one of our partners and hosts the Summer Intensive Institute and has provided several instructors from the departments of biology, Earth sciences, technology, and mathematics. We have also partnered with UC Merced to provide instructors in engineering.
This site contains information on the work we've completed to date, links to various educational resources, and will ultimately serve as the portal for the teacher-developed STEM-based units that will be completed in Year Three of the project.
